Feeding your MInd, Body & Soul

equal-exchange-large.jpg

Equal exchange has been building authentic fair trade for over 25 years, working directly with small farmers from 23 co-ops in 12 countries. So it was a natural choice for the food chain we wanted to establish; offer the best you can get while doing the best GOOD for the most PEOPLE that you can. I believe the proof is in the cup, and I let the coffee speak for itself. You can taste the love.

    Our food

At Cathedral Cafe, our philosophy is straightforward: we believe in using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients to create the best dishes possible. This commitment shines through in our daily specials, soups, and carefully crafted regular menu offerings.

 our drinks

We’ve got a little something for everyone when it comes to drinks. Whether you’re into cocktails, canned or bottled beer, mocktails, wine, or local ciders, we’ve got you covered.

We’re all about keeping things local—it’s our way of supporting the amazing folks in our community. Plus, we’re always asking for drink suggestions, and people are more than happy to share their favorites. It’s a team effort, and we love it!

    our Desserts

I think what people love most about our desserts are that they are all homemade. That’s an art that has somehow fallen to the wayside these days. We have 4 staple desserts on the menu at all times (of course, unless we are sold out..) the Mixed Berry Cobbler, Bread Pudding (made with day old muffins and cinnamon rolls), Homemade Brownies and our famous Ultimate Carrot Cake. Seasonally, I’ll make my Great Grandma Ruth’s Apple Pie and others as well. And I have to give a shout out to our huge homemade cookies!!

History

When Rick and I bought the cafe back in June 2000, I had never even worked in a restaurant. The learning curve was exhausting and amazing as well. I learned so much about this amazing town, it’s people, their willingness to help, and, in turn, myself. I’m proud of what the Cafe has become; a community hub buzzing with the happenings of our small town and life in general. It’s the first place people come to for help, and, at the same time, the first place they come to celebrate. This place, and these people are my family, and they mean the world to me.

Meet the Owner

Like many others, the river drew me here and has never let me go. I guided on the river for 8 seasons before I bought the cafe. I still go steep my soul in the calming waters of the New as often as I can. She knows me. My kids have been raised in the cafe for over 24 years now, and it’s still where we all gather, whether we are working or not. How could we not? It’s where our friends are. It’s where our family is. It’s where our heart is.
